FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Where are you located?
The Ireland Academy of Dance has two locations: one is 28 Wallbridge Crescent in Belleville and the other is 179 Saskatoon Avenue in Campbellford. Our dance boutique is located inside of the Belleville studio.

What is the youngest age my dancer can be to enrol in a class?
We train students as young as 2 years old! These young learners get their own special class called Wee Dance.​ Click here for more information on the classes we offer to pre-school students.

Do you offer classes for adults?
Yes we do! The Academy's extraordinary director has been hosting adult classes since the studio first opened. Click here for more information on all of the classes we offer to adult dancers.
 
What type of dance classes do you offer?
You name it, we have it! The Ireland Academy of Dance is happy to offer a wide variety of classes for both the beginner and advanced level dancer. The genres we offer include ballet, pointe, jazz, tap, acro, lyrical, contemporary, musical theatre, and conditioning. We are proud to be linked with four exam associations to help guide our students through the grades of dance. Are your instructors certified in dance?
All of our instructors are certified in at least one branch of dance. The associations they are affiliated with include B.A.T.D., R.A.D., A.D.A.P.T., I.S.T.D., Acrobatic Arts, Alixa Flexibility, and Progressing Ballet Technique. Click here to get to know them!

Does your studio have a competition team?
We sure do! The Ireland Academy of Dance has an elite group of dancers we collectively call "The Performance Dance Troop". Between our award-winning choreographers and dancers, this team is no short of amazing. Click here for more information on their performances and how to audition.

When do your classes run?
Our schedule caters to a wide variety of availability. We have classes running Monday-Thursday as of 4:15pm, on Saturday mornings, and on Sunday afternoons. Our tiniest dancers even have the choice to attend class on a weekday morning. Click here to fill out a contact form and we will follow-up with your scheduling options.

How long is the dance year?
Most of our classes are divided into two terms. For the 2023/2024 season, our Fall/Winter terms starts on September 12 and runs until when our Winter/Spring term starts on January 29. The exception is our Wee Dance and Prop It Up!  classes which run 8-weeks at a time (when available).

When is your recital?
Our staff and students are looking forward to our June 1, 2024 recital date!

Is there a studio uniform?
The students at the Ireland Academy of Dance follow a vibrant dress-code in all of their classes. Our junior division stands out in their lilac leotards and custom-made sparkle skirts. The dress code for our intermediate and senior dancers consists of black dancewear that is tailored to each specific genre. All dress code items can be purchased from Frequent Steps Boutique.
 
What is Frequent Steps Boutique?
Frequent Steps Boutique is the dance store the Ireland Academy of Dance is affiliated with. We sell beautiful leotards, tights, shoes, bags, and accessories that are eligible to be worn at all of the local dance studios. For our specific students, we also sell a variety of logo-wear!
